Alright rock and roll lovers listen up! Remember when KISS said goodbye? Like officially, totally, end-of-the-road farewell tour goodbye? Well, scratch that! Turns out the Demon, the Starchild, the Spaceman, and the Catman aren't quite ready to hang up their guitars just yet. Get ready to scream it out loud because KISS is coming back for a special one-off show and this one’s gonna be a little different.
KISS Army Storms Vegas: Get Ready for a Makeup-Free Mayhem in Sin City This November!
Mark your calendars and start booking those flights to Vegas because KISS has announced they're hitting the stage again! It's all happening as part of a three-day extravaganza called "KISS Army Storms Vegas". This isn't just any weekend though it's a full-on fan event running from November 14th to 16th at the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. Imagine a weekend dedicated to all things KISS in Vegas? Yeah it sounds pretty epic.
The big news though the headline grabber is that KISS is set to perform a concert during this event and get this it's going to be an UNMASKED show! That’s right no face paint no crazy costumes just KISS playing raw and real. This will be their first live gig since they wrapped up their massive "End of The Road Tour" in December 2023 with those emotional Madison Square Garden shows.
Unmasked and Unleashed: What Does a Makeup-Free KISS Show Even Mean?

Now for those of you scratching your heads about the "unmasked" part it's kind of a big deal. KISS and makeup are like peanut butter and jelly you don't really picture one without the other. They’ve been rocking the face paint for decades it's their signature look. But they actually did go unmasked for a period back in the 80s. Remember the "Lick It Up" era? That was all bare-faced KISS from 1983 to 1996.
After that they brought back the makeup for the "Alive/Worldwide Tour" and it's been mostly painted faces ever since. Gene Simmons himself even said before their farewell tour ended that the final show in makeup was really truly the end. He told Rolling Stone "I’ll say right here right now my hand on the Bible it will be the final KISS-in-makeup appearance.” So this Vegas show? It’s something completely different and unexpected.
Bruce Kulick Returns to the Fold: Former KISS Guitarist to Join the Vegas Celebration

Adding even more to the excitement the announcement email also mentioned a "special live performance from former KISS member Bruce Kulick." Now that’s a name longtime KISS fans will definitely recognize. Bruce Kulick was a guitarist for KISS from 1984 to 1996. He was actually part of that unmasked era back in the day. He’s one of only two official KISS members who performed without makeup the other being Mark St. John.
It’s not clear yet if Bruce will be playing with the current band members or doing his own set at the event but either way it's a cool addition. Bruce has actually played with KISS again at their KISS Kruise events in the past so he's still part of the KISS family.
Gene's Solo Tour Detour: Solo Dates Postponed But KISS Reunion On!

This whole KISS reunion news comes right after Gene Simmons himself had to postpone 17 dates on his solo tour with The Gene Simmons Band. He said it was not due to health reasons and that those solo shows would be moved to 2026. So while Gene's solo gigs are on hold it seems like KISS is taking priority for this special Vegas event. It definitely shows how significant this unmasked reunion is.
From Farewell to Encore? KISS Keeps Rocking After Saying Goodbye (Again!)
Let’s be honest KISS has had a few “farewell tours” over the years. There was the "KISS Farewell Tour" way back in 2000 and 2001. Then they kept going. This "End of The Road Tour" was supposed to be the absolute final curtain call. But here they are announcing a new show less than two years later. Are we really surprised? Probably not. KISS are rock and roll survivors and they know how to keep the fans wanting more.
Paul Stanley himself hinted at this even when the farewell tour was wrapping up. He said "KISS is so far from over though KISS as we know it is done." It sounds like they are open to different kinds of KISS experiences even if the traditional makeup-and-costumes touring machine is retired. This unmasked Vegas show could be the start of a whole new chapter for the band.
