But the biggest reveal of all? Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the MCU... but not as Iron Man. He is back as the iconic villain Doctor Doom! The livestream ended with RDJ himself in a suit and tie giving a "shhh" to the camera. Talk about a mic drop moment! This is massive and unexpected and completely awesome. RDJ as Doom? Get ready for some serious villainy.
Notable Absences: Where are Spider-Man Captain Marvel and Other Key Heroes?
With such a massive cast reveal you might be wondering who is missing . Notably absent are some major names like Tom Holland's Spider-Man Hulk Hawkeye and Doctor Strange. Captain Marvel Rhodey (War Machine) Pepper Potts and Nick Fury are also not on the list. And no sign of Deadpool Wolverine or other big X-Men names like Storm Jean Grey or Magneto either. Does this mean they won't be in the movie at all? Not necessarily. Marvel loves surprises and there are still rumors that Chris Evans might appear as Captain America in at least one of the two-part Avengers movies. Maybe some of these missing heroes will show up as surprises or in the follow-up movie Avengers: Secret Wars.
