Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's Los Angeles home was broken into on Friday night. Law enforcement sources informed The Times about the incident on Tuesday. The residence of the Australian actress and the country music star located in a gated community close to Beverly Hills was ransacked.
Sources indicate that these burglaries seem less focused on targeting celebrities because of their fame. Instead the focus is more on the valuable items likely present in their expensive homes. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told The Times that police officers went to a burglary report at 8 p.m. Friday on Lime Orchard Road. A security guard informed officers that a burglar broke a glass door of the house. The burglar then ransacked the residence before leaving according to the spokesperson.
Lime Orchard Road is situated within the Hidden Valley gated community in Los Angeles. This exclusive Beverly Hills area is home to various celebrities. Penelope Cruz Cameron Diaz Jennifer Lawrence Adele and Katy Perry have also bought houses there alongside Kidman and Urban as reported by the New York Post.
The Times reported that Kidman and Urban purchased their house in 2008 for $4.7 million. Constructed in 1965 the house is 4100-square-feet with five bedrooms and is located on a 1¼-acre property. The house features large windows that offer views of the canyons.
Their property is among several celebrity homes that have been burglarized recently in Los Angeles and throughout the country. Some of these incidents are believed to be linked to organized theft groups from South America.
According to an FBI report obtained by ABC organized theft groups from South America are believed to be responsible for recent burglaries at the homes of at least nine professional athletes.
Earlier in February the West Los Angeles home of LAFC striker Olivier Giroud was also targeted. On February 5 the LAPD responded to a report of a smashed window and home burglary at the French soccer player’s house. Law enforcement sources mentioned that items worth $500000 were taken from Giroud’s home including expensive watches. Giroud a member of the French national team that won the 2018 World Cup relocated to Los Angeles last year after signing with LAFC.
It remains unclear if the break-ins at Giroud’s home and Kidman and Urban’s residence are connected to organized theft groups. In December the FBI stated that organized theft groups from South America were thought to be behind burglaries at the homes of at least nine professional athletes between September and November 2024.
The FBI issued a warning to sports leagues noting that crime groups were targeting athletes’ homes to steal cash and valuables such as watches designer handbags and jewelry. Some prominent figures in American sports including Patrick Mahomes Luka Dončić and Travis Kelce have been victims of these break-ins.
In January the Beverly Hills Police Department and Glendale Police Department collaborated to arrest five suspects believed to be part of a criminal group responsible for multiple residential burglaries. During search warrants at the suspects’ homes detectives found stolen firearms jewelry watches luxury handbags designer clothing and other luxury items that belonged to the victims police stated. Detectives have connected this criminal group to residential burglaries in Beverly Hills Glendale San Marino Los Angeles Burbank Pleasanton Bakersfield Ventura County Orange County and San Mateo County.

Our Take On The Nicole Kidman Home Burglary Incident

The burglary at Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's home is unsettling. While details about what was stolen are not yet clear the incident itself is concerning. It is part of a broader pattern of home burglaries affecting both celebrities and high-profile individuals. The possible link to organized South American theft rings adds another layer of complexity to this issue.
