Okay horror fans listen up! The Grim Reaper is clocking back in and he is bringing his A-game. The trailer for Final Destination Bloodlines just dropped and let me tell you it is packed with the over-the-top gory goodness we all crave from this franchise. Seriously if you thought Death in the other movies was creative just wait until you see this.
BBQ Gone Wrong? The Trailer’s Opening Death Scene is Next Level Insane
The trailer kicks off with a backyard BBQ scene that starts out all chill you know sunshine burgers good times. But then BAM things go south in a truly spectacular Final Destination way. We are talking a domino effect of disaster that is pure Rube Goldberg levels of macabre.
It starts with a sneaky shard of glass hiding in someone's drink. Then we get grill flare-ups a trampoline gone rogue an out-of-control hose and it all ends with what looks like a lawnmower straight to the face. I mean come on! Who even thinks of this stuff? It is both horrifying and darkly hilarious at the same time which is exactly what we want from Final Destination right?
Someone in the trailer even says "I always knew this day would come. I held him off for years. He’s a relentless son of a b won’t stop until he finishes the job. Death is coming for our family." Creepy ominous and sets the tone perfectly for the chaos to come.
What’s the Story This Time? Family Secrets and a Fight Against Fate

So what is Bloodlines actually about? The trailer gives us a peek. It looks like the movie centers around a college student named Stefanie. She heads back home and finds out her family has a seriously messed up history with Death. Apparently someone in her family messed with Death's plans way back when and now Death is holding a grudge against the whole bloodline. Talk about family drama!
Stefanie has to figure out how to break this curse and save her family from meeting some seriously gruesome ends. Sounds like she is on a mission to find the one person who might have the answers and the power to stop Death’s relentless pursuit. Will she succeed? Knowing Final Destination odds are probably not great but it will be a wild ride watching her try.
Tony Todd Returns One Last Time: A Franchise Legend Says Goodbye

Okay Final Destination fans you know Tony Todd right? The Candyman himself? He is basically a horror icon and he has been a recurring figure in the Final Destination world as William Bludworth the funeral home director. Well get ready to see him one last time in Bloodlines.
The trailer gives us a glimpse of Todd in his role and it is bittersweet. Sadly Tony Todd passed away last November and Final Destination Bloodlines will be his final movie performance. It is pretty awesome that he gets to return to this franchise one last time and deliver those signature creepy lines of his. In the trailer he says "Only by embracing death will it pass you by." Chills right?
It sounds like William Bludworth will be as mysterious and unsettling as ever possibly holding some key information or warnings for Stefanie and her family. Tony Todd really brought a certain gravitas to these movies and his presence will definitely be missed.
Log Trucks are Back to Haunt Your Nightmares: Homage to an Iconic Death Scene?

Longtime Final Destination fans perk up! The trailer includes a sneaky little callback that you are going to either love or run screaming from. Remember the highway pileup scene in Final Destination 2 with the log truck? Yeah that one that made you terrified to drive behind any truck carrying anything ever again? It's back or at least a nod to it is.
In the Bloodlines trailer we see characters slamming on their brakes to avoid a log truck. Now this could just be a little Easter egg for fans a wink and a nod to that infamous scene. But knowing Final Destination it could also be foreshadowing something much more sinister. Could we be getting another log truck death sequence? Maybe even gorier and more elaborate this time? Prepare yourselves just in case.
Seriously the log truck scene in Final Destination 2 is legendary for being absolutely terrifying and relatable. Plane crashes and roller coaster accidents are scary but kind of rare. But driving near a log truck? That is everyday stuff. Bringing that fear back for a new generation could be geniusly horrifying.
Meet the New Faces of Fear: The Cast of Final Destination Bloodlines

While Tony Todd is back to connect to the older movies Final Destination Bloodlines is also bringing in a fresh cast of faces for Death to toy with. Here are some of the stars who will be trying to outsmart fate this time around:
- Kaitlyn Santa Juana as Stefanie the college student who is trying to save her family.
- Teo Briones (Known for Chucky TV series)
- Richard Harmon (From The 100)
