To get everyone hyped for the new Toxic Avenger movie starring Dinklage Ahoy Comics is launching a brand-new comic book series.
It's called "The Toxie Team-Up" and issue number one is set to drop this summer. And get this for his first team-up Toxie is joining forces with none other than Jesus Christ! Yes seriously. The comic is written by Mark Russell and drawn by Richard Pace. If you know Russell's work you know it is going to be wild and funny and maybe a little bit thought-provoking. Apparently retailers at ComicsPro were told Ahoy is planning a whole slate of Toxic Avenger comics throughout 2025 to tie in with the movie release.
Issue #2 is already planned and it is featuring another Ahoy Comics character the Jersey Devil from their Project Cryptid series. That one will be written by Stuart Moore and drawn by Ryan Kelly. It sounds like they are planning some crazy crossovers for Toxie with characters from other Ahoy titles like Acid Chimp Dragonflyman and even Swamp Cop. It's going to be a wild ride for Toxic Avenger fans.
"Toxic Avenger and Jesus Christ is the Team-Up We Didn't Know We Needed" Says Writer Mark Russell
Mark Russell himself seems pretty stoked about this whole Toxic Avenger comic thing. He joked that "Toxic Avenger and Jesus Christ is the team-up that everybody has been clamoring for". He also hinted that just like in his other comic "Second Coming" Jesus will show that there are more ways to solve problems than just violence. And even in a weird place like Tromaville where Toxic Avenger lives there are still things people from all walks of life can relate to.
Matt Bors who brought back Toxic Avenger comics last year mentioned that Toxie's "mutant gore and subversive charm" make him perfect for crazy crossovers. Ahoy Comics Editor-in-Chief Tom Peyer even joked "why doesn't he have a church of his own?". It sounds like everyone involved is ready to embrace the chaotic and over-the-top world of the Toxic Avenger.
From Gross-Out to Spooky: Peter Dinklage Also Stars in Horror Rom-Com "Together" with Alison Brie
Okay so Toxic Avenger is definitely on the crazy side but Peter Dinklage is also showing off his range with a completely different kind of movie coming in 2025. Get ready for "Together" a horror romantic comedy co-starring Alison Brie and Dave Franco. Neon picked this one up at Sundance and just dropped a trailer that is giving us chills and laughs all at once.
This movie is written and directed by Michael Shanks and Neon is planning to release it in theaters on August 1 2025. The trailer is pretty wild. It starts off all cute with Alison Brie and Dave Franco's characters moving into a new house in the woods. Peaceful walks in the forest right? Wrong.
Things quickly go from a little off to seriously creepy. The trailer hints at some kind of supernatural possession with weird dog sightings seizures strange black strings and levitation. And the only words spoken in the trailer? Just Dave Franco saying "I love you" and Alison Brie replying "I love you too" while things are clearly going totally bonkers around them. It looks like a seriously twisted take on a relationship.

What's even more interesting is that Alison Brie and Dave Franco are married in real life. They said they were drawn to the project because it felt different and their real-life relationship could add something cool to the on-screen dynamic. Dave Franco joked that after filming this movie they would either get divorced or become even more co-dependent. Luckily it sounds like it was the latter.
The movie's synopsis says "With a move to the countryside already testing the limits of a couple’s relationship a supernatural encounter begins an extreme transformation of their love their lives and their flesh." So yeah expect things to get weird and intense. But also expect some humor. It is a horror rom-com after all.
Alison Brie mentioned that working with Dave is "very attractive" and that she is always impressed by him on set. Dave added that they gain more respect for each other working together and they get to see each other try new things. It sounds like "Together" is not just a horror movie it is also a project that is personal and meaningful for them as a couple.
