For Emily's wedding of course! She's marrying some rich Italian businessman and it's going to be an "extravagant wedding" according to the official synopsis.
But knowing Emily and Stephanie things are never simple. Along with all the fancy guests you can bet there will be "murder and betrayal" RSVP-ing for this wedding. The movie promises more twists and turns than those winding roads on Capri. Basically expect a glamorous wedding gone completely off the rails with these two at the center of it all. It sounds like a recipe for some seriously fun chaos.
Early Buzz is In: Critics Praise Lively & Kendrick's Chemistry and Killer Style But Plot Gets a Little...Dumb?
Lucky ducks at SXSW Film & TV Festival got to see Another Simple Favor early and the initial reviews are rolling in . The good news? Everyone seems to agree that Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick are still pure magic together. Reviewers are raving about their "effervescent chemistry" and how much fun it is to watch them bounce off each other again.
The costumes are also getting major love. Apparently the fashion is even more amazing this time around with Lively's "breathtakingly luxe menswear-inspired ensembles" and Kendrick's signature "momcore" style getting some Italian upgrades. Basically expect some seriously stylish eye candy.
However some reviews are a bit mixed when it comes to the plot. Some say it gets a little "dumb" and "absurd" in the second half losing some of the cleverness of the original. One review mentioned "a few too many plot threads" and that things get "off-puttingly bizarre" at times. But hey if you are here for the Lively-Kendrick dynamic and the overall vibe it sounds like you will still have a blast. As one review put it "So what if it doesn’t always make sense?"
No On-Set Drama Here! Director Paul Feig Shuts Down Rumors of Lively-Kendrick Feud
Before the movie even premiered there were some silly rumors floating around about tension between Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick. Apparently some YouTuber claimed there was drama and that Lively was "terrified" to walk the red carpet because Kendrick was supposedly upset with her.
Well director Paul Feig was quick to shut those rumors down hard. He denied any tension and said basically "you are wrong". A source close to the movie agreed saying Feig's statement "says it all". It seems like it was just internet gossip with no truth to it. Both Blake and Anna seemed to be having a great time at the premiere and are clearly excited about the movie.
