Hold up reality TV fans because Deal or No Deal Island Season 2 just threw a curveball that no one saw coming. Episode 9 "Million Dollar Walk" was already intense with alliances shifting and strategies tightening but then BAM the Banker dropped a double elimination bombshell . Yep you heard right TWO players got the boot this week and things on Banker's Island are officially cutthroat. Quicksand Chaos and a Romantic Ploy? Inside the "Million Dollar Walk" Excursion Challenge
This week's excursion challenge was no walk in the park literally. Players had to navigate a super narrow balance beam over a pit of quicksand while carrying briefcases. Heavy briefcases. The person carrying the heaviest case got immunity for the week. Sound easy? Not so much. Quicksand is involved people!
David Genat aka "The Father" of "The Family" alliance predictably crushed this challenge showing off his Survivor skills. He snagged safety and control of who would face the Banker. Meanwhile Parvati Shallow "The Mother" somehow managed to secure safety AGAIN for the ninth week in a row. Seriously these two are playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers.
But the real drama was unfolding below the balance beam in the quicksand pit. Dickson in a bold but maybe foolish move went for a red briefcase hoping for automatic safety. Spoiler alert: it backfired big time and he ended up flailing in quicksand for a full two minutes while host Joe Manganiello helpfully counted down. Ouch.
Adding insult to injury Dickson's "romantic ploy" aka giving Alexis Lete a friendship bracelet with her initials to try and sway her vote seemed to do absolutely nothing. Some viewers might call it a strategy others just saw it as plain "yuck". Relationships are currency on this island but friendship bracelets covered in quicksand mud? Debatable value.
Double Trouble at Temple! The Banker's Shocking Twist Changes Everything for the Final 5
Just when the remaining players Parvati David Alexis C.K. and Phillip thought they could catch their breath host Joe Manganiello dropped the bomb. After the excursion when everyone was back at camp the Banker's phone rang. Manganiello with a devilish grin announced a game-changing twist: a double elimination at Temple was coming. That's right not one but TWO players would be going home after the Banker duel.
Chaos erupted. The Final 5 were now facing double the pressure and double the danger. Only three would move on to the finale and alliances were about to be tested like never before. The Banker was upping the ante and suddenly every move mattered even more.
Alexis vs. Dickson in Banker Duel: Island Babe Sends "Island Babe" Packing (Finally!)
David who won immunity got to choose who would face the Banker. Everyone knew Alexis Lete was the obvious choice. She is a huge threat and not part of "The Family". And let's be honest David and Parvati were running the show. But here's where it got interesting. Phillip tried to pull the guilt card saying he wasn't in the right "headspace" to play. For some reason David bought it. That left Alexis and Dickson.
Despite Dickson practically volunteering to go David still seemed hesitant to put his "son" at risk. But Alexis really really did not want to face the Banker. She even told Dickson straight to his face that if she won she would send him home. Did David believe her? Apparently not fully because he still picked Alexis.
Big mistake David. Alexis came to play. She absolutely crushed the Banker duel making strategic case picks knocking off big money amounts and rejecting lowball offers. She even declared to Dickson "You’re going home" before the duel even started. Talk about confidence. And guess what? She was right.
Alexis won against the Banker made a good deal and true to her word sent Dickson packing. After weeks of Dickson being a somewhat annoying presence on the island many fans likely cheered at his elimination. Even former player Seychelle Dickson's biggest hater was probably celebrating at home.
Deal or No Deal Island Final 5 Contestants: Who's Still in the Running for the Big Bucks?
