Alright animation fans and comic book lovers get hyped! If you are watching 'Invincible' Season 3 then you know things have been building to something huge. Well guess what? It's here and it's called the "Invincible War" and it is absolutely bonkers. And to make it even more epic guess who just joined the party? None other than the awesome Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the voice of the ultra-badass villain Conquest!
'Invincible War' Erupts in Season 3 Episode 7: Critics are Calling it the BEST Episode EVER!
If you caught the end of episode 6 you knew something big was coming. But Episode 7 "What Have I Done?" just blew expectations out of the water. This is where the "Invincible War" storyline from the comics finally explodes onto the screen. And let me tell you it is intense. We are talking multiple evil versions of Mark Grayson unleashed on Earth by the creepy Angstrom Levy.
Critics and fans are going nuts for this episode. Seriously some are saying it is not just the best episode of Season 3 but possibly the best episode of the entire series so far! That's high praise right? What makes it so special?
Well for starters the scale is massive. This isn't just a local fight in Chicago anymore. The evil Invincible variants are attacking cities all over the globe - New York London Tokyo Paris you name it. The destruction is insane and the animation team really went all out to show just how much chaos these guys are causing. Buildings are crumbling cities are burning and it feels like the whole world is in danger.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan Enters the Fray as Conquest: Prepare for a Villain of Epic Proportions

And now for the cherry on top: Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Yup the guy who can play charming heroes and terrifying villains with equal ease is voicing Conquest. Conquest is this seriously powerful Viltrumite warrior and he is being teased as a HUGE threat for what's coming next. We only get a taste of him at the end of Episode 7 but trust me it's enough to make you seriously worried for Mark and everyone else.
Having Jeffrey Dean Morgan voice Conquest is just perfect casting. He has that voice that can be both menacing and charismatic and you know he is going to bring the intensity to this role. Conquest is not messing around and with Morgan voicing him you know he is going to be a villain to remember.
Multiverse Mayhem and Mark vs. Mark: Episode 7 is a Non-Stop Action Spectacle

Episode 7 is basically a non-stop rollercoaster of action. We see these evil Mark variants wreaking havoc everywhere and it's up to our Mark and all the heroes to try and stop them. And there are a LOT of evil Marks. Apparently Steven Yeun who voices our Mark also voices all 18 of these variants! Talk about voice acting range!
Each variant is a little different some are just muscle some are more cunning but they are all bad news. The episode is split into three parts showing each day of the "Invincible War" and it really creates this sense of dread and urgency. Cities fall heroes get pushed to their limits and you are constantly on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next.
It's not just action though. Episode 7 also delivers on the character front. We see Rex Splode make a truly heroic sacrifice solidifying his character arc in a really impactful way. Oliver has some emotional moments too especially a goodbye scene with Debbie that will probably get you right in the feels. Even Atom Eve gets in on the action though some critics are still hoping her powers will get a more dynamic visual upgrade soon.
What's Next? Conquest Arrives and Season 3 Finale Promises an Explosive Showdown

Just when you think things can't get any more intense Episode 7 ends with the arrival of Conquest. This is the new big bad that was hinted at earlier and he shows up just as everyone is trying to clean up the mess from the Invincible War. Perfect timing right?
Now Mark has to face yet another massive threat and this one looks even tougher than the evil Mark variants. The season 3 finale is set to be a showdown between Mark and Conquest and knowing Invincible it is going to be brutal epic and probably leave us all picking our jaws off the floor. Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Conquest vs. Steven Yeun as Invincible? Yeah we are SO here for it.
