In the latest episode "St. Hetty's Day" Woodstone B&B got a little more supernatural than usual. Jay's cousin Sunil came for a visit heartbroken and needing a break. But things took a turn when Sunil walked into the kitchen and started chatting... with Hetty! Yes you read that right Sunil saw Hetty. And Jay? Jay saw her too! Cue the ghost gang freaking out because what is happening?!
Turns out Hetty can be seen by the living but there is a catch. It only happens on St. Patrick's Day. Why St. Patrick's Day? Well the Ghosts being ghosts logic it out to be because Hetty just discovered she is Irish in a previous episode. Apparently accepting her Irish heritage unlocked this very specific very hilarious power. As Rebecca Wisocky who plays Hetty put it "The reveal of Hetty’s ability only happens after she truly accepts who she is and that seems pretty resonant to me."

So Hetty is visible for one day what does she do? Well naturally she goes on a date! Sunil totally charmed by Hetty's "refinement" (and let's be real Rebecca Wisocky's amazing comedic timing) takes her out. Their date is full of classic Hetty moments including her hilariously convincing Sunil she ate a whole lamb chop bone and all. Seriously you have to see it to believe it.
Of course this being Ghosts things can't be totally normal. Sunil freaks out when he realizes Hetty is well you know a ghost. Romance over right? Not entirely. Even though their date ends abruptly Jay points out that Hetty gave Sunil the confidence to not settle and Hetty for the first time in forever felt seen thanks to Sunil’s genuine admiration. Interestingly Rebecca Wisocky herself wasn't sure if Hetty should even get a power. She admitted "I kind of loved that she didn’t have one maybe because she’s so superior." She thought it was funnier if Hetty was actually lacking something despite her high opinion of herself. But now that Hetty has this power Rebecca laughs that "now she can lord her power over them [the other ghosts]." Oh the comedic possibilities!
