Okay TV lovers if you watched the season finale of Hulu's Paradise you are probably still picking your jaw up off the floor. This show went full bonkers and we are here to break down all the crazy twists turns and cliffhangers. From killer librarians to cheese fry clues this finale was a wild ride and left us with so many questions for Season 2.
Recap: Paradise Finale - From Murder Mystery to Apocalyptic Escape and Waitress Cheese Fry Secrets
Remember how Paradise started as a murder mystery? Yeah that feels like ages ago now. Agent Xavier Collins was trying to figure out who offed President Bradford . Turns out the answer was hiding in plain sight literally in the library. The seemingly harmless librarian Trent was the killer! Twist!
But why? Well it is a long story involving a climate apocalypse a secret bunker and some seriously shady billionaire dealings. See Trent was actually a former project manager for the bunker's construction. He found out the wealthy elite were building their paradise on the backs of workers poisoned by arsenic. Nice huh?
So librarian Trent went all vigilante. He tried to warn people then tried to assassinate the President earlier and finally succeeded in the bunker library of all places. Talk about a grudge. He even used a rotary drill bit. Ouch.
And remember Maggie the waitress and her cashew milk-cheese fries obsession? Turns out that was a clue too! Agent Robinson realized real Maggie was deathly allergic to nuts. Fake Maggie busted! She was in on the librarian's scheme somehow. This show loves its cheese fry plot points.
Wii Games Betrayal and a Daughter in Danger: Jane Goes Psycho and Sinatra's Fate

Agent Jane Driscoll who seemed like a slightly awkward but mostly harmless Secret Service agent? Psycho alert! She goes full villain in this finale. When Xavier's daughter Presley gets caught up in things Jane is the one tasked with "handling" her.
And Sinatra the billionaire mastermind? She's not exactly evil but definitely morally flexible. She even lets Xavier and his coup buddies go after they fail which is weird. But Jane takes things to another level. She shoots Sinatra to "save" her from Xavier but really Jane is just seizing power for herself. Oh and why did she shoot Sinatra? Because Sinatra laughed at her demand for President Bradford's Nintendo Wii. Yes a video game system triggered a power grab. This show is something else.
Xavier's Escape and Season 2 Set-Up: Hello Real World Goodbye Bunker Paradise

Despite all the chaos Xavier manages to solve the murder rescue his daughter and expose the bunker's secrets. He leaves his kids in the surprisingly capable hands of Agent Robinson (remember their rocky start?) and takes off in a plane. Why a plane? Because Xavier’s dad and granddad were pilots so obviously he can fly anything.
Season 1 ends with Xavier escaping the bunker and heading into the unknown real world outside. What will he find? Will it be a wasteland or are there other survivors out there? That is the big question Paradise Season 2 is set to answer. Get ready for a whole new setting and a whole lot more mysteries.
